Having just entered 2017 there is pressure to set New Year’s resolutions and even an old age that states “New Year, new me”. That pressure doesn’t seem to apply for Zimbabwean born rapper Nash and after the worldwide premier of his 2016 banger ‘Vices’ on Montreality, it is understandable.

Released on the 16th of January 2017, Nash’s new anthem ‘New Year Old Me’ speaks volumes of how the resolution-making process has never been exciting for the rapper. Instead the confidence and wit of the song is an encouragement that while the resolution inspiration works for others, for the rest of us it has taken lifetimes to get to where we are and that in the New Year we shall continue to be unapologetic about who we are.
