I AM Afrika on My Sleeve - Visual Exhibition

The last four years have been full of collaborations and Afrikan inspired art, fashion and music. On the 27th of May join us to celebrate four years of representing Afrika and her diaspora across the seas and championing for authentic voice representations of her descendants. During the exhibition you will interact with art, fashion, music, photography, sound bites, video and written excerpts that will provide insight into the stories of the African community collaboratively collected from a third culture perspective.

Due to the limited number of people we can cater for, please RSVP to confirm your attendance. This exhibition is free and is part of Auckland Festival of Photography & 2017 Africa Day Celebrations.

Goals & Head Wraps - Wellington

Sisters in Wellington, after an energetic & awesome workshop in Auckland, we are excited to be sharing Goals & Head Wraps with you! Goals & Head Wraps is a workshop designed to facilitate the exploration of what you want to slay for the remaining 3/4's of the year. It is time to celebrate the 1st quarter and press refresh on the goals we have set on our journey to living our purpose with fierce intent.

On the 7th of May let us gather together and get to celebrate each other. The purpose of the event is to share our goals and explore how we can collectively and individually help each other achieve them. As they say behind every successful woman is a tribe of women who have her back. There is also a lot of stereotypes about women competing with each other, being jealous of each other and all sorts that we don’t agree with. Our motto and understanding of the sisterhood is that the presence of one woman’s beauty, talent and shine is not the absence of yours. We are full of talent and our gifts are out of this world; it is time we let them shine unapologetically.

This event will be catered for and tickets are $30.00 per head. Your ticket money will go towards catering for the day and goal setting activities. Catering is being outsourced to allow all of us to participate and enjoy.

Ready, set, go get your life sister; the life you deserve!

Dress code: head wrap

Venue information will be sent to you upon purchase :)

Connect, express & move

Rooted in poetry and movement this workshop will take you on a journey of experiencing poetic rhythm as a channel to greater self-exploration and self-expression. Through drumming, dancing, movement, poem and prose you will reawaken the fun of rhythmic language and assist you with discovering your own rhythmic voice. #BlackGirlMagic

During the workshop you will participate in group rhythmical improvisation, write short poems and chant. This is open to all levels, no experience in dance or writing is necessary. This is about understanding that as sisters of colour we have agency and bodily autonomy and that we can use tools such as movement and writing as a means to connect & express.

Event location will be sent to you via email.

Goals & Head Wraps

Sisters, new year, new you; new year, old you. Either way it doesn’t matter its time to celebrate the New Year, celebrate each other, set our goals and march towards our purpose with fierce intent.

On the 12th of February let us gather together and turn those goals into reality over a beautiful array of cheese, wine and food. The purpose of the event is to share our 2017 goals and discuss how we can collectively and individually help each other achieve them. This event will be catered for and tickets are $30.00 per head. Your ticket money will go towards catering for the day and goal setting activities. Catering is being outsourced to allow all of us to participate and enjoy.

We will also be launching an exciting transformational project for everyone to get involved in.
